Already February!

I cannot believe January came and went, (and so did our annual trip to a warmer climate - this year Antigua). Not only that, February also arrived, so we celebrated Valentine's Day and Presidents' Day weekends with a polar vortex... Thankfully my trip to FL got cancelled so I didn't get to have any guilt about being away... (irony! lol)

Anyway, I am as of ...well, now the Artistic Director of the music department for the TIMARETE festival in NY. First emails out, first confirmations etc. Excited! Also, rehearsals at school are going GREAT, the Greek label collaboration is almost signed and sealed, and ideas f new songs are pouring in. With my new set up I seem to be passing most of my day working on 5 projects. The bad thing is I have 15...! Have I mentioned in this post how awful NY weather is?

Keep living the dream everyone.

New Music, new play, new goal!

After a LOT of consideration and some ...gentle pressure from my business partners we have decided it's time to start slowly working on our new theatrical production! So I'm putting my composer hat on and dive in the darkest alley I can find to write the songs that will transcend the voice of the missing character of the play (have I said too much??)! Painful at times, soaring at most, but totally worth it! Production is starting to take form.

Kidding aside, I have to admit I am most humbled by the whole process, extending my arms to people I trust to help us build this new play and do it the justice it deserves! We have gradually raised the bar, bringing productions that have grown us as a production team, as people and as friends. We've learned so much and we are ready!

Christos Alexandrou the Vocal Coach

After taking a few years to focus on performances, recordings and travelling I am returning to the Beacon Program's school auditorium on Roosevelt Island to start coaching again! I'm really excited and am ready to take on the responsibilities that come with this title.

Carnegie Hall here we come!

I was cast as part of the new Rock Opera, Porphyra that is debuting in Carnegie Hall! As the incomparable Donna Wyant takes over as the director of this demanding show, I am entrusted with the role of the Narrator as well as the Creative Director and additional composer for this show! Dimitris Lambrianos also becomes now the Musical Director and band leader!

Here's a link to an article about this: Porphyra a Rock Opera

August is here!!

Hey the summer is moving along and so are all the projects and news.

So the show is over and it seems it went pretty well. The Cast was so much fun to work with and hopefully we'll meet again pretty soon.

There was a great review in NEO MAGAZINE:

Currently I'm also performing in the city every Friday and am getting ready to shoot another film in the last week of August.

The previous one (The Divorce) is in post production, but the trailer is ready:

Hopefully by the end of the summer both movies are going to be ready and maybe the feature film too.

Don't miss also my appearance in National Geographic's "Monsters Inside Us".

Moreover, I'm still teaching singing at Roosevelt Island PS/IS while getting ready for the September's Off-Broadway Greek tragedy…

That's it for now… I'll write in a few more news in a couple of days when I'll have more information on something. ;-)

Happy 2010!!

Hey everybody!

Long time...

I hope you enjoyed your holidays and had a great time with friends and loved ones.

I was mostly working over the holidays and 2010 has started with many promises professionally speaking.
As you might know I teach vocals at Roosevelt Island Public School and the kids have been AMAZING!! They have found out about my TV show and of course they all want to be in it!!
My private students have been getting to a whole new level singing wise which only makes me happy and extremely proud of them!

Moreover, I will be letting you know about my performances (getting many booking offers) as well as our ETHOS Productions tour of A Cuckoo Family.

This is all very exciting!

Well I think my new year's resolutions have already started!! Careful what you wish for right?

Talk to you soon!

Long Time....!

Hey sorry for appearing under the radar for a while...

I've been keeping busy here in NY and now things have finally settled down (or it seems).
I got a part in a commercial, the Sundays at ELO gig is still going, got a role in a movie and have a fundraising event which I'm hosting and guest perform in this Friday ( the 29th).

That's all I can talk about for now. Soon I will let you know about more.

For the time being you can also find me on Facebook (there is also a group make sure to join that too) and Twitter.

See you around soon

Christmas in Athens

This trip was much awaited but for once more we realize that we are really small! Everybody has been asking me about the album, and the Video Clip... How can I go promoting my stuff when all this is happening so close? Vandals and pissed-off citizens are tearing this city apart. Not once thinking of the consequences... I hope the Christmas miracle happens and everything is resolved in peace and harmony...

For those that have asked to see the video here it is. I hope you can enjoy it!

November!!

Well, well well!!
The summer moved on and now the winter is almost here!!
However, after 1 year and a few months being away from Greece I will be visiting for X-mas!

Now that Lysistrata is up and "running" (the show opened last week) I know I can be free to do other things for now. Well I'll be performong alongside Maria Farantouris at the Athens Concert Hall (Megaron Mousikis).

I'll be in Athens for rehearsals but also for a few other things as well!! I'll be performing for the Deree College alumni (December 11th) and also my album "One Look" will be arriving for distribution in Greece!! (by Music Post).

I'll keep you posted for TV appearances or anything that might come up!!

See you in Greece!!
